      1961 Lincoln Continental SS-100-X Facts:
    • The original car was a 1961 Lincoln Continental 4-door convertible.
    • X-100 was the code name given to the car by the secret service.
    • Custom-built, Kennedy's limousine cost $200,000 to manufacture.
    • Following Kennedy's assassination in 1963, the limo underwent basic modifications and was then returned to Washington D.C. in June of 1964.
    • In 1967, the limousine underwent major modifications.
    • Before the limousine was retired in 1977, it had been used occasionally by Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter.
