The Chevelle was one of the most popular and successful brands in the Chevrolet lineup. The 1969 model had minimal styling changes from the previous 1968 model, including the completely revamped front grille and bumpers. Differing from the base model Chevelle, the SS™ 396 was an optional upgrade, a L78 big-block V8 motor, 375 hp and launched this hefty 3700 lb. car from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds!The 396 engine was first introduced by Chevrolet in 1965.
